The Workout That Changes Everything!
Our Pilates Method builds upon the Original Method
Here at CoMMotion Dance, Pilates and Fitness we revel in the original exercise method named after the late Joseph Pilates who both pioneered the core exercise movements and engineered several spring-loaded resistance machines. We use his original method and add layers of exercise advances developed over the last two decades by physical therapists and exercise professionals.
The resulting inclusion of modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation, make our style of Pilates one of the safest and effective methods available! Pilates is great for clients rehabilitating to full function after an injury, prenatal clients, as well as athletes, dancers and everyone in between.
A Total Core Strengthening and Stabilization Workout
Pilates is a body conditioning system that improves muscle tone, balances musculature, builds flexibility and muscle strength, as well as increases endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, and developing a strong core or center, and improving coordination and balance. It supports correct posture, and teaches us to move with ease and grace. The Pilates system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginning to advanced. Intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises.
